Security Cameras

Smart Switches & Lighting

Device & App Setup

Wi-Fi connection, manufacturer app pairing, and basic configuration — part of every installation.

Video Doorbell Installation

The most common job we do in this category: replacing an existing doorbell with a Ring, Nest, or similar video doorbell. For wired models, we check the existing doorbell wiring first — older wiring can be damaged, too short, or unsuitable for the new device, and occasionally needs additional work before the doorbell can go in. We’ll tell you if that’s the case before anything is committed.

From there it’s secure mounting at a height and angle that actually shows faces rather than foreheads, connection to the manufacturer’s app, and a test ring so you see it working on your phone before we leave. Battery models skip the wiring questions and mostly come down to good positioning and setup.

Smart Thermostat Installation

Smart thermostats are a compatibility question before they’re an installation question. Compatibility depends on the thermostat model, your existing HVAC equipment, and the wiring configuration behind the old thermostat — some systems need a common wire the old thermostat never used, and not every older system supports every model. That’s why we ask for a photo of your current thermostat’s wiring up front: it usually answers the question before we ever drive over.

When the match is right, we remove the old unit, wire and mount the new one, walk through the setup, and connect it to your Wi-Fi and app.

Smart Locks & Security Cameras

A smart lock is only as good as the door it’s on. Proper deadbolt alignment matters more than the electronics — if the bolt binds against the strike plate, no app will fix it — so we check and adjust the alignment as part of the installation, then program codes and pair the lock with its app. If a door itself is sticking or sagging, our door and window repair service can sort that out in the same visit.

Cameras get mounted where suitable power and network connectivity are available, aimed to cover what you actually care about, and set up in the manufacturer’s app. We’re straightforward about what cameras are: a useful way to see what’s happening at your home — placement and coverage are always a trade-off of angles, light, and Wi-Fi reach.

Setup, Wi-Fi & App Pairing

Every device we install gets connected to your existing Wi-Fi and paired with its manufacturer app before we call the job done — and we show you the basics of using it. Where the devices themselves support Alexa, Google Home, or Apple Home, we can link them into the ecosystem you already use.

What we don’t do is network engineering — if a device sits beyond your Wi-Fi’s reliable reach, we’ll tell you honestly rather than promise a workaround.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What smart home devices do you install?

Video doorbells, smart locks, smart thermostats, indoor and outdoor cameras, smart switches and dimmers, plus the Wi-Fi and app setup that makes them actually work.

  • Can you install a Ring or Nest doorbell?

Yes — Ring, Google Nest, Eufy, and similar brands, both wired and battery models. Send the model and a photo of your current doorbell and we’ll quote it.

  • Can you replace my existing doorbell with a video doorbell?

Yes, that’s the most common job we do. One note: older doorbell wiring can be damaged, too short, or unsuitable for the new device — we check it first and tell you if extra work is needed before anything is committed.

  • Can you install a smart thermostat?

Yes — Nest, Ecobee, Honeywell, and compatible models, once we’ve confirmed your system supports the one you chose.

  • How do I know if my HVAC system is compatible?

Compatibility depends on the thermostat model, your HVAC equipment, and the wiring configuration. Text us a photo of your current thermostat with the cover off — the wiring usually answers the question.

  • Can you install smart locks?

Yes — Schlage, Kwikset, Yale, August, and similar keypad and app-controlled locks, including the deadbolt alignment check that keeps them working reliably.

  • Do you set up the app after installation?

Yes. Wi-Fi connection, manufacturer app pairing, and basic configuration are part of every install — and we show you how it works before we leave.

  • Can you install several smart devices during one appointment?

Yes, and it’s usually the most efficient way to do it. A doorbell, a couple of locks, and a thermostat in one visit is a very normal day for us — list the devices when you text.
