Painting Services in Pensacola, FL
Handychief paints interiors and exteriors across Pensacola and the surrounding communities — walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and cabinets, with the prep work and cleanup included in the job. Text a few photos and a short description of what needs paint, and we’ll quote it before we arrive.
Interior Painting
Bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, hallways, closets — walls and ceilings, accent walls, trim and baseboards, doors and door frames. Whether it’s one wall that’s seen too much furniture-moving or a whole house between tenants, the approach is the same: protect the room, prep the surface, and cut clean lines.
For a full breakdown of interior work, see our interior painting page.

Exterior Painting
Exterior doors, trim, shutters, fascia where appropriate, siding where appropriate, and small exterior structures like sheds and railings. Exterior work starts with an honest look at the surface: material, existing coating, and condition all decide whether a surface is ready for paint or needs repair first — not every exterior surface can simply be painted over, and we’ll tell you which is which before quoting.
Larger exterior projects are covered on our exterior painting page.
Proper Preparation Matters
Good preparation is one of the biggest factors in how paint looks and how well it adheres. Paint doesn’t hide problems — it magnifies them. So before any color goes on the wall:
How much of this a given job needs depends on the existing surface. A well-kept wall getting the same color may need very little; a glossy, patched, or sun-beaten surface needs more. That’s exactly what the quote sorts out up front.
Drywall Repair Before Painting
Most rooms have a little history in the walls: nail and anchor holes, dents from moving day, hairline cracks, old mounting holes from a TV or shelf. Small repairs like these are usually handled as part of the painting project, patched and sanded so the finish reads as one surface.
One honest caveat: stains from moisture, active leaks, mold, or larger structural cracks aren’t painting problems — the underlying cause needs to be addressed first, and painting over them just hides the evidence for a while. For bigger wall and ceiling work, see our drywall and ceiling repair service.
Trim, Doors & Detail Painting
Baseboards, crown molding, window and door trim, interior and exterior doors — the detail work that frames every room. Previously painted trim is usually glossy, and new paint won’t grip gloss without help: it gets cleaned, scuff-sanded, and primed where needed so the new coat bonds instead of peeling at the first scrape.
Cabinet Painting
Cabinet painting is a different job from wall painting — kitchen cabinets live with grease, steam, and daily handling, so the coating has to be built for it. That means degreasing and cleaning, thorough surface preparation, a compatible primer and cabinet-grade coating system selected for the existing surface, and proper curing time before the doors go back to work. Done as “just paint,” it chips within months.

Residential & Commercial Painting
Most of our painting is in homes and rental properties — including turnover repaints for landlords and property managers who need a unit clean, patched, and painted between tenants. We also take on appropriately sized commercial work: offices, retail spaces, and repair-and-repaint projects. See commercial painting for that side of the work.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
What painting projects do you take on?
Interior and exterior work of most sizes — single walls and doors, full rooms, whole-house repaints between tenants, trim and detail work, cabinets, and smaller commercial spaces.
-
Do you handle small jobs, like one room or one door?
Yes — small jobs are a big part of what we do. One accent wall, a scuffed hallway, or a front door that’s faded in the sun are all worth a text.
-
Do I need to buy the paint?
Either way works. Some customers have paint ready; otherwise we’ll help you settle on colors and sheens and pick up the materials — listed on your quote.
-
How many coats will my project need?
It depends on the surface, the color change, and the paint — a light-over-light repaint may need less, a dramatic color change or a patched wall needs more. We set expectations in the quote, not after.
-
Can you fix holes and drywall damage before painting?
Yes. Nail holes, anchor holes, dents, and minor cracks are usually patched and sanded as part of the project. Moisture stains, active leaks, or mold need the underlying cause fixed first.
-
Do you paint kitchen cabinets?
Yes — with the full prep it requires: degreasing, sanding, a compatible primer and cabinet-grade topcoat, and curing time. It’s a different process from wall painting, and we treat it that way.
-
Can every exterior surface be painted?
Not always. Material and condition decide — some surfaces need repair, stripping, or a different coating first. We evaluate before we quote so there are no surprises.
-
Can you paint multiple rooms in one visit?
Yes, and it’s usually the most efficient way to do it. Tell us the rooms when you text and we’ll quote the whole project.
-
Do you clean up afterward?
Yes — tape pulled, drop cloths out, floors clean, furniture back in place. The only evidence we were there should be the paint.
-
How do I get a painting quote?
Text a few photos and a short description to (850) 556-2900 — what’s being painted, roughly how much of it, and whether the color is changing. We’ll quote it before scheduling.
