Handychief gets a new Smart TV from the box to actually watchable: stand assembled, TV positioned, connected to your existing Wi-Fi, streaming devices and soundbar hooked up, inputs configured, and the basics shown to you before we leave. Need it on the wall instead? That’s our dedicated TV mounting service.
Setup and configuration — from the box to the couch. Wall mounting is its own service, one link away.
Unpacking where included, manufacturer stand attached, TV positioned, powered up, and walked through initial startup: language and basic settings, connection to your suitable existing Wi-Fi, available software updates where appropriate, picture and audio preferences, inputs configured, and a basic operational test. Every brand’s setup flow differs — we’ve seen them all.
Manufacturer legs or pedestal assembled with the supplied hardware, the TV positioned, and basic stability checked. If a TV doesn’t fit safely on your furniture, we’ll say so rather than improvise — no modified hardware, no wobbly compromises.
Your TV connected to your existing, working home Wi-Fi. Connectivity depends on the signal at the TV, the router and network condition, your internet service, and the TV itself — fixing weak whole-home Wi-Fi, router failures, or ISP problems is separate network support, not TV setup.
Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, Disney+, Prime Video, and whatever else your TV’s platform offers — installed and set up. We navigate to the sign-in screens and help with the process while you enter your own passwords, PINs, and account information. Subscriptions aren’t included, and app availability depends on the TV’s platform and your accounts.
Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV/Chromecast, and other common HDMI streaming devices: connected, powered, set to the right input, paired with their remotes, joined to your existing Wi-Fi where appropriate, and tested.
Soundbars connected by HDMI ARC/eARC, optical, or whatever the TV and soundbar support: physical connection, the TV’s audio output set correctly, basic soundbar setup, and normal operation tested. Whole-home audio, in-wall speaker wiring, and custom surround design are a different trade.
Cable box, game console, Blu-ray player, streaming device, soundbar — connected and assigned to the available inputs so switching is a button, not a scavenger hunt. Faulty devices, cables, or ports may need separate troubleshooting or replacement; we set up, we don’t repair electronics.
Visible HDMI, power, and device cables organized — with external raceways or other appropriate solutions when included in the scope. An ordinary TV power cord doesn’t belong inside a wall; in-wall concealment separates low-voltage cabling from electrical power, and the details live on our TV mounting page.
Wall mounting is its own discipline — brackets, wall types, fireplaces, big screens — and it has its own page: TV Mounting. Plenty of projects combine the two: we mount the TV and then run the full setup, so you go from box to streaming in one visit.
A new Smart TV usually wants system updates, app downloads, account verification, manufacturer activation, and remote pairing before it settles down — and those steps run at the speed of your internet and the manufacturer’s servers, not ours. We don’t promise a fixed setup time, and when a manufacturer’s service is down, the last steps may finish after we’ve gone — we’ll leave the TV usable and show you what’s left.
Bedrooms, the living room, an office, a rental, or the whole house after a move — send the model, size, location, and device list for each TV and we’ll review the entire project together and quote it as one job.
Guest-ready TV setup for rentals: basic configuration, streaming devices connected, inputs sorted, remotes paired. Your streaming passwords stay yours — we don’t store or manage account credentials, and ongoing IT support isn’t part of the service.
For clarity’s sake: standard Smart TV setup doesn’t include TV electronics repair, cracked screens, motherboard or power-supply work, internet service repair, router replacement, network engineering, custom home-theater design, new electrical circuits, or major in-wall wiring. If your project needs one of those, we’ll say so and help you figure out who does it.
