Handychief installs curtain rods, drapery hardware, blinds, shades, and the rest of the window-treatment list — one window, several rooms, or the whole house, with customer-supplied products welcome. Text photos of the windows and links to the hardware, and we’ll quote it before we arrive.
Rods, blinds, and shades — measured, mounted, and working before we leave.
Single and double rods, decorative rods, blackout-curtain rods, ceiling-mounted hardware where offered, and customer-supplied curtain systems. Placement is carefully measured from the window size, the desired curtain height, the rod length, bracket locations, surrounding trim, and the room — aligned for a clean, consistent appearance.
Blinds, roller shades, cellular shades, cordless shades, and other common customer-supplied treatments. Inside mount goes within the opening where the dimensions and the product allow; outside mount goes above or around it — which one fits depends on the actual opening, the product’s dimensions, the trim, the mounting depth, and the manufacturer’s specs.
Heavier curtains put more load on the brackets, fasteners, rod, and wall — so the mounting method gets chosen for the load. For heavy blackout drapes, extra-wide windows, or unusually heavy fabric, send the curtain details, rod specs, width, and photos, and we’ll match the installation to the system.
Battery-powered and manufacturer-designed plug-in motorized shades installed and configured where the product design allows. New circuits, concealed wiring, and electrical modifications aren’t part of standard installation — and smart-home integration runs through our smart home service.
The right mounting method comes from the wall construction, the available framing, the rod and bracket design, the curtain weight, the rod width, the manufacturer’s requirements, and where the hardware lands — wood framing, drywall, masonry, or another finished surface.
Where framing is available and appropriate, it may be used for support. In other situations, appropriately rated fasteners or anchors are used based on the wall, the hardware, and the expected load. No single anchor suits every installation, and no honest installer promises a rod will hold any curtain forever — the complete system has to suit the intended use.
Where a rod sits matters as much as how it’s fastened: height above the window, extension beyond the trim, curtain length, rod length, neighboring windows, and ceiling height all shape the placement — and different curtains, rooms, and preferences call for different answers, not one formula. Across multiple windows, we measure for consistent placement so the rooms read as a set.
Have rods, blinds, or shades for several rooms — bedrooms, the living room, the dining room, an office, a nursery, or every window in a new home? Send the complete list, product links, and photos, and we’ll review the project together: consistent placement, careful measurement, and an efficient multi-window installation, quoted as one job. How long it takes depends on the quantity, the products, the walls, the access, and any assembly involved — the quote sets the schedule.
Bought everything already? Perfect. Have the complete rod, blind, or shade with its brackets, manufacturer hardware, instructions, and any product-specific components — we bring the installation tools and standard mounting supplies. Missing proprietary brackets and replacement components come from the manufacturer or retailer, and if an item is incomplete, damaged, mis-sized, or won’t fit the opening, we’ll explain before proceeding.
Windows collect history: old anchor holes, damaged drywall, loose material, damaged trim, tired fasteners, unusual framing, or masonry where you expected drywall. If the surface needs repair or preparation before hardware goes up, we’ll discuss that scope first — minor patches can join the project, and larger damage runs through drywall repair or carpentry.
This page goes deep on window treatments — rods, drapery hardware, blinds, shades, measuring, anchoring, and multi-window projects. For everything else that needs mounting, see the broader home installation service.
