Handychief repairs holes, cracks, and damaged drywall on walls and ceilings — from doorknob dings to replaced sheetrock sections — and blends the common textures so the repair reads as part of the wall. Text photos of the damage and we’ll quote it before we arrive.
Patching, sheetrock replacement, and finishing — sized to the damage, not padded into a bigger job.
Small holes, doorknob damage, anchor holes, larger openings, and damaged sections — patched or cut back to sound material and replaced with new sheetrock where that’s the right repair.
Cracks and failed seams repaired properly — taped and refinished, not just smeared over. If a crack keeps coming back, that can point to movement or another underlying issue worth identifying before it’s refinished again.
Popped fasteners re-secured and refinished, and damaged corner bead cut out and replaced where the corner has taken a hit.
The opening a plumber or electrician left behind, closed up: patched, taped, finished, and texture-blended so the access hole disappears into the wall.
Ceilings get the same treatment as walls — holes, cracks, failed seams, damaged drywall, and localized replacement — plus the ceiling-specific work: stains repainted after the underlying problem has been corrected, and sagging drywall re-secured where the cause is within normal drywall-repair scope.
Not every ceiling problem is a drywall problem. If the sag or stain traces back to a roof issue, plumbing, structural movement, or ongoing moisture, that underlying issue needs to be identified and corrected first — we’ll tell you what we’re seeing before any finish work.
Water-damaged drywall gets repaired in a set order, and the order matters: confirm the leak or moisture source has been addressed, confirm the area is dry, then remove the damaged drywall where necessary, install replacement sheetrock, tape and finish, blend the texture as closely as practical, and prime and paint when it’s in the scope.
We repair the drywall — we don’t fix roofs or plumbing, and we’re not a mold-remediation company. If there’s significant or suspected mold contamination, an appropriate specialist may need to handle that before drywall restoration makes sense. We’ll say so plainly if that’s what we find.
A good patch fails at the texture stage more often than the taping stage. We work with the common finishes — orange peel, knockdown, skip trowel, smooth finish, and popcorn/acoustic texture where appropriate — and blend the repaired area as closely as practical with the surrounding wall or ceiling.
Fresh texture and paint on an old surface can read slightly different up close; the goal is a repair you stop noticing, and we’ll tell you up front how close a given surface will blend.
Popcorn and acoustic textures can be patched after ceiling repairs, or removed and refinished as a project of their own. One caveat that matters: older ceiling textures may require asbestos testing before they’re disturbed — when testing is appropriate, it should be completed before removal work begins. See our popcorn ceiling removal service for the full process.
Repair → prep → finish, handled as part of the same project: the patch, the texture, the priming, and the painting can all be included in the scope, so the wall is done when we leave — not repaired and waiting for a painter.
From photos to a finished wall — with drying time built into the schedule, not skipped.
The whole area, close-ups, rough dimensions, and the cause if known.
We look at what happened and whether anything needs fixing first.
What’s included, agreed and priced up front.
Damaged drywall patched, or cut back and replaced with new sheetrock.
Coats applied and sanded — joint compound needs drying time, so some repairs take more than one visit.
Blended and finished when included in the scope.

Holes, cracks, failed seams, nail pops, damaged corner bead, water-damaged sections, ceiling damage, and openings left after plumbing or electrical work — patched or replaced, finished, and texture-blended.
Yes — from anchor holes and doorknob damage to larger openings that need a cut-back and new sheetrock. The repair is sized to the damage.

Yes — once the leak or moisture source has been addressed and the area is dry. Damaged drywall is removed where necessary, replaced, finished, and textured. Significant or suspected mold contamination is specialist work that comes before drywall restoration.
Yes — taped and refinished properly. If a crack keeps returning, that can point to movement or another underlying issue, and we’ll say so rather than refinishing it on repeat.
Yes — that’s one of the most common calls we get. The access opening is patched, finished, and texture-blended into the surrounding wall or ceiling.
Yes — patched after repairs, or removed and refinished as its own project. Older ceiling textures may require asbestos testing before they’re disturbed; when testing is appropriate, it should be completed before removal begins.
Yes — priming, texture work, and painting can be included in the same project scope, so the repair is finished, not just patched.
Send a photo of the whole area, a close-up, and rough dimensions — we’ll review the damage and quote the repair before scheduling.
