Handychief installs and mounts the items a home collects: ceiling fans and light fixtures on suitable existing wiring, shelves, curtain rods and blinds, mirrors and wall decor, bathroom accessories, and the rest of the box-in-the-corner list. Text photos of the space and links to the products, and we’ll quote it before we arrive.
Installing and mounting new fixtures and household items — repairs to what’s already there live on our home repairs page.
Existing fans replaced: mounted, blades assembled, balanced and adjusted, connected to the suitable existing wiring, and run through a basic operational test. If the existing box, wiring, switching, or circuit needs work beyond that, we’ll say so — that’s an electrician’s scope, and no box is assumed suitable without a look.
Ceiling lights, pendants, chandeliers where appropriate, vanity lights, and other common fixtures replaced or installed on suitable existing connections. New circuits, panel work, rewiring, and box relocation aren’t part of standard installation.
Floating, standard, storage, and decorative shelves — fastened with the method the wall construction, shelf design, weight, and manufacturer requirements call for. Studs where they serve the load; appropriate anchors where they don’t.
Curtain rods, drapery hardware, blinds, shades, and window-treatment hardware hung level and consistent. Mounting method depends on the product, the wall and header construction, the width, and the weight — specialty products get flagged before work starts.
Mirrors, framed pictures, artwork, and grouped layouts — carefully measured and securely mounted using appropriate hardware. Heavy pieces get the mounting their weight, frame, and wall construction require.
Towel bars and rings, toilet paper holders, robe hooks, mirrors, and shelving mounted where they’ll stay put. Bigger bathroom projects run through our bathroom updates service.
Video doorbells, smart locks, thermostats, cameras, and smart devices within scope — compatibility depends on your home’s wiring and network, and the full picture lives on our smart home page.
Hooks, rails, wall-mounted organizers, and the miscellaneous household items that need a drill and a level — sent as a list, quoted as one project.
The box pile is the usual story: curtain rods in one room, shelves in another, a mirror, bathroom hardware, and a light fixture waiting in the garage. Send the full list and photos and we’ll review the project together — one multi-item home installation, one scope, one quote. Some lists take a visit; some take more, and the quote says which before anything is scheduled.
Drywall, wood framing, masonry, concrete block, tile, and other finished surfaces each take a different approach — and so do a floating shelf and a picture frame. The correct method comes from the surface, the item’s weight, the manufacturer’s requirements, and the framing that’s actually available: studs where they serve the load, appropriate anchors and hardware where they don’t. What we won’t do is give you a one-size-fits-all promise about how everything gets mounted.
You supply the product and the manufacturer-specific parts that come in its box; we bring the installation tools and appropriate standard mounting supplies. Proprietary brackets, replacement components, and fixture-specific parts come from the manufacturer or retailer — if an item arrives incomplete or damaged, we’ll talk through the next step before installation day.
Installation sometimes reveals what was already there: damaged drywall, a loose mounting surface, deteriorated wood, an unsuitable electrical box, damaged wiring, old broken hardware, or a previous installation that cut corners. Handyman-level fixes can be added to the agreed scope — shown and quoted first, not assumed into the original price. Major electrical, structural, plumbing, and wall-reconstruction work belongs to the appropriate trades, and we’ll say so plainly.
