Handychief installs and replaces the residential light fixtures you’ve already picked out — chandeliers, pendants, flush and semi-flush mounts, vanity lights, and entryway fixtures — using the suitable existing electrical connections and mounting locations in your home. Text the fixture link and photos of the spot, and we’ll quote it before we arrive.
Residential fixture replacement and installation — on the connections your home already has.
Existing ceiling fixtures replaced with compatible flush or semi-flush fixtures where the existing box, wiring, mounting location, and support suit the new light. Not every swap is a straight one-for-one — photos tell us which yours is.
Single pendants and sets, carefully measured and aligned: consistent spacing, appropriate mounting, and hanging height adjusted to the space. Relocating boxes or adding brand-new pendant locations is a different scope.
Scope depends on the fixture’s weight, the existing box and support, ceiling height, access, design, and wiring. If the existing mounting box or support isn’t suitable for the fixture, additional work may be required before installation can be completed — we’ll tell you from the photos and specs.
Bathroom vanity fixtures replaced or installed on suitable existing connections — part of many bathroom update projects.
Statement fixtures in entries and stairwells, where ceiling height, safe access, fixture weight, and the existing mounting point and wiring allow. High-ceiling installs get their access reviewed before anything is promised.
Fan swaps on suitable existing wiring and support are their own page — see ceiling fan installation.
Every fixture replacement rides on what’s already in the ceiling or wall: the electrical box, the wiring and grounding, the mounting hardware, the support behind it, the fixture’s weight, and the switch or dimmer it’ll run on. When those are sound and suited to the new fixture, installation is routine.
When they’re not — a damaged box, unsuitable wiring, or support that can’t take the fixture — additional work or an appropriately qualified electrical trade may be required. New circuits, panel work, rewiring, box relocation, new fixture locations, and electrical troubleshooting are outside standard fixture installation, and we’ll say so plainly rather than improvise.
Swapping a fixture where a suitable box and wiring already exist is one job. Adding a fixture where there’s never been one is another — it can need new wiring, a new box, switching, and ceiling or wall access, which is electrical work beyond this service. Send photos first and we’ll tell you which project you have.
Heavier fixtures need support that matches their weight. The existing box and support are reviewed for suitability based on the fixture and the installation conditions — and if additional support or electrical work is necessary, the scope gets reviewed before proceeding, not discovered mid-install.
Dimming depends on the combination of fixture, bulbs or LED driver, dimmer, and the existing wiring configuration. Dimmer compatibility can be reviewed as part of the project when relevant — switch replacement isn’t automatically bundled with a fixture install.
Bought the fixture yourself? Perfect — that’s most of our lighting work. Have the complete fixture, the manufacturer’s mounting hardware, the instructions, and any fixture-specific parts on hand; we bring the installation tools and standard supplies. If a fixture arrives damaged or incomplete, we’ll talk through the next step before installation day — proprietary parts come from the manufacturer or retailer.
Removal of the existing fixture can be included in a replacement project. Haul-away and disposal should be confirmed as part of the agreed scope — say the word and we’ll build it in.
Send photos and product links for the full list — pendants over the island, the vanity light, bedroom fixtures, hallway flush mounts — and we’ll review the fixtures together and quote them as one project.
The sequence flexes with the fixture — a vanity light and a foyer chandelier are different jobs, and the quote treats them that way.
